Intumescent Acrylic Sealant

Description

IFP Intumescent Acrylic Sealant is a chlorine free emulsion acrylic that swells when subjected to temperatures in excess of 125'C. The sealant forms a charcoat that prevents the passage of fire. It is a smooth, over paintable, easily applied compound which cures in air to form a resilient, tack free seal. Excellent adhesion on a wide range of substrates is evident and practical experience indicates no tendency to harden, crack or split, even in relatively aggressive environments.

Application

IFP Intumescent Acrylic Sealant forms a fire and smoke seal in joints up to 25mm wide without slumping. It is ideal for perimeter pointing of internal partitions, lap joints in fire rated cladding and for sealing between fire doors and fire rated walls. It is recommended that a seal of at least 15mm in depth be applied in butt joints. Such a depth of Sealant has been shown to be sufficient to enable a properly designed structure of suitable material to achieve up to a 4 hour rating.

Application Instructions
To achieve a high quality joint, clean all surfaces, remove dust and ensure surfaces are dry. Non porous surfaces should be degreased using a suitable degreasing agent. IFP Intumescent Acrylic Sealant presents no known health hazards when used as recommended.
