Introduction
Intumescent Pillows have been designed to seal penetrations where cables, ducts and
pipework pass through a fire rated wall or floor. Providing 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours fire
rating, Intumescent Pillows are ideal for a temporary fire barrier or where services are
continually being changed. Installation
Intumescent Pillows can be used in wall or floor openings. A wire mesh support system,
which is easily fixed to the underside of the floor, is available for floor penetrations.
Shake bags to ensure a good even distribution of infill material. The bag length may be
reduced by shaking infill to one end and folding over the cloth. Sizes may be varied
within a penetration and the joints of the pillows overlapped, these joints should be
staggered in successive layers. Use should be made of small bags where necessary around
services to ensure a tight seal. |
