Firestrip 30

 

Provides half hour fire resistance for glazed timber doors, windows and partitions

Firestrip 30 is suitable for use in internal softwood or hardwood timber screens and doors with a- wide variety of glass types; PYROSHIELD, PYROCET, PYROSWISS, PYRAN S, PYROBEL and many more. Resistance to the passage of fire and smoke between the glass and beads is provided by Firestrip 30, a high performance intumescent strip sealant. Firestrip 30 is designed to give 30 minutes integrity and has been successfully fire tested and assessed to BS476:Part 22:1987 Reference WFRC 70068 and WFRC C82568. 30 minutes insulation can also be obtained with some glass types. With Firestrip 30 you can design screens of unlimited height and width in both softwood and hardwood to provide 30 minutes fire resistance. The screen can incorporate some 11 different non-insulating and insulating glasses, fixed with hardwood beads. The glasses in the summery cover safety impact ratings from C to A fulfilling all the safety requirements of Part N Schedule 1 Building Regulations 1991. You can choose Fire strip 30 for all the glass types listed in the table.

Screens

Simply design your screen around the following frsme details.

Softwood minimum density 560kg/m3

(plus Ash and Iroko) minimum cross section 80mm x 45mm

Hardwood minimum density 650kg/m3

(except Ash and Iroko) minimum cross section 65mm x 45mm When considering the design of the screen bear in mind the maximum glass area and dimensions shown for the appropriate glass ensuring that these are not exceeded. It is important to overcoat Firestrip 30 with the coating applied to the frame and beads to protect it from the detergents in window cleaning solutions.

All the above products, where relevant, are tested to Bntish Standards 476 Parts 8 20 22 and 31.1
